Orosi Valley (Cartago) - An excellent, approximately 2,100-ft2 (200-m2) home with swimming pool on 1-1/4 acre (5,000 m2) of land with an amazing view overlooking the Orosi Valley. The developer is creating somewhat of a mountain community of similar homes all together (but not a gated community, etc.), nestled among the surrounding coffee fields. Two homes have been completed and sold; one other (nearly finished - shown in the photos) is under contract; they just began construction on new home (still available). If you're too late for a finished home or one under construction, you may select the lot you like and have them build a home more to your own specifications (within the same general guidelines as the existing homes). Prices starting around US$170,000, depending on exact size, design, etc.
The homes under construction are roughly 2,000 ft2 in size, with three bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, dining area, living area with fireplace, etc., all with high ceilings of high-quality hardwood, nice details, nice design, etc. Each home has its own small swimming pool on its own 1-1/4 acre lot, each with awesome view.
The area is excellent, with a very peaceful, back-to-nature feel. And the climate is superb, with a Spring-like climate...year-round (you likely won't need heat or air-conditioning ...ever!).
The general Orosi Valley is a fantastic area that is rapidly growing in tourist appeal and has numerous attractions, including the nearby Tapantí National Park (6,000+ acres of gorgeous virgin rain forest), world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking, two public thermal baths (there are numerous hot springs around the valley) and a five-star hot spring spa/resort, Lake Cachí and the Cachí Dam, several cultural landmarks (such as the oldest church still in operation as well as the ruins of the very first church), quaint traditional towns, and the scenic beauty of a valley that many guidebooks say is the prettiest in the country. Just a short drive away is the Lankester Botanical Gardens, the Irazú and Turrialba Volcanos, the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles in Cartago (home to the country's patron saint and the destination of a yearly pilgrimage that attracts over a million people). It's a fantastic area!
